Jiu Jitsu is a grappling-based self defense martial art. Different from other arts, it focuses on techniques its practitioners can use on the ground and provides options for when someone is on their back. Jiu Jitsu players utilize position reversals known as “sweeps” to move from the beneath an opponent to a more advantageous top position, and submissions holds/chokes to make opponents “tap out,” signaling the end of a fight. In essence, with proper technique and leveraging, a smaller person can beat a larger person. We all get to go home intact as long as we respect the tap!
